The Two Witnesses

These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth." Revelation 11:4
These will prophesy 1,260 days clothed in sackcloth, vs 3

  • They have power to shut the skies so that no rain will fall during the three and a half years they prophesy, and to turn rivers and oceans to blood, and to send every kind of plague upon the earth as often as they wish, vs 6
  • Anyone trying to harm them will be killed by bursts of fire shooting from their mouths, vs 5
  • When they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them, vs 7
  • Their bodies will be exposed in the streets of Jerusalem for three and a half days, vs 8
  • People everywhere will rejoice and give presents to each other and throw parties to celebrate the death of the two prophets who had tormented them so much, vs 10
  • After three and a half days, the spirit of life from God will enter them, and they will rise up!, vs 11
  • They will rise to heaven in a cloud as their enemies watch, vs 12
  • The same hour there will be a terrible earthquake that levels a tenth of the city, Jerusalem leaving 7,000 dead, vs 13
  • Then everyone left will, in their terror, give glory to the God of heaven, vs 13

The gospel of Christ!

The gospel of God, is that which pertains to His Son Jesus Christ, through him we have received grace and apostleship, to bring about the obedience of faith to all.

Our service is rendered to God, whom we serve by our spirits telling the good news about his Son.

Preaching the gospel is all manner of witnessing and imparting spiritual gifts on God’s people, the believers, the called of Jesus Christ, who are called to be saints. That method of believing is called faith, and mutual faith when we together believe.

"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith" Romans 1:16-17.

The gospel of God is that which concerns His Son. God can be known only through the gospel of Christ, and that which may be known of God has now been made manifest in us; for God r…

Partakers of Christ's sufferings!

"Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy" 1 Peter 4:12-13

It is no shame to suffer for being a Christian, instead it is a privilege, folks. For "if ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye ; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified" 1 Peter 4:14.

Suffer according to God's will, not "as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters" 1 Peter 4:15.  But do what is right folks, and trust yourself to God who made you, for he will never fail you.

"The end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer. And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: …

Melchizedek

Melchizedek was king of the city of Salem and also a priest of the Most High God. His name means King of Justice, King of righteousness and King of peace.

Life story

Melchizedek had no father or mother and there is no record of any of his ancestors. He was never born and he never died but his life is like that of the Son of God - a priest forever. We learn from his life story that a priest’s other job is to bless those who have promises, (ref: Hebrews 7:6). Have we got any promise? Yes loads, and among others we’ve the promise of salvation.

Anyway, I said Melchizedek’s life is like that of the Son of God - a priest forever.  After the Levitical priesthood God sends a new kind of priest, and we can plainly see that God's method changed, for Christ, the new High Priest who came with the rank of Melchizedek, as we all know, Christ did not belong to the priest-tribe of Levi, but came from the tribe of Judah, which had not been chosen for priesthood; Moses had never given them that wo…
