From such withdraw thyself!

Keep away from wicked leaders!
"If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness...supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself." 1 Timothy 6:3,5
Believers need to learn to withdraw themselves from people, or churches that don’t anymore serve their purpose. Some churches you can’t even tell what purpose they serve; they neither have a doctrine of godliness nor that of sin. I know one church which is superstitious, they don't know how to tell the truth, they don’t even bind devils nor mention Satan when they pray. To cut the long story short, to them what they call Good News is just a means of making money. Paul says from such keep away, my friend!
Keep away from perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and men "destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself."
Stay away from prosperity or motivational …

These things teach and exhort!

"And these things give in charge, that they may be blameless." 1 Timothy 5:7 KJV
A believer who does not put into practice sound doctrine is worse than an infidel who has denied the faith.
You just have to know how as a believer you’ve been invited for supper, it now has been made ready for you to come and partake thereof. He’ll not be happy if you start to make excuses not to come.
So, behold supper is ready, and it’s godliness nonetheless, it’s good doctrine. Every believer in that state wherein they’re, are invited to partake of good doctrine, there is no excuse.
Here is how we should partake of the Lord’s supper - with all purity!
Firstly, he expect of us appropriate relationships, again no excuse. Secondly, we shouldn’t shy away from our responsibilities, instead show piety at home! Also, we should "honour widows that are widows indeed" 1 Timothy 5:3.
Allow me to show you this verse also, "I will therefore that the younger women marry, bear children, guide th…

Put the brethren in remembrance!

"If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained." 1 Timothy 4:6 KJV
Put the brethren in remembrance of these things; "that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth." 1 Timothy 4:1-3
It makes you a good minister to make someone to remember, to believe, know, and attain to sound doctrine. This you can do if yourself too are nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine.
If you’ve no sound doctrine you make it easy for you to be turned away from the faith, no matter how strong you feel you are. Mind you, some people who’ve …

The office of a bishop!

"A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach." 1 Timothy 3:2
You got to tick all the boxes to be a bishop, not to tick tick the only one box that suits you most, but all. It‘s not enough only to be able to teach whilst you fail on the other aspects. A bishop must be blameless and beyond reproach, the husband of one wife, self-controlled, sensible, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not addicted to wine, not a bully, but gentle, considerate, and free from the love of money. Now consider also your leader, if he/she can teach, but falls short on the other characteristics then you should know you’re both liable to falling into the devil’s trap. How will he/she take care of the church of God while ethically wrong?
Paul says, "These things write I unto thee, hoping to come unto thee shortly: But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, …

Pray much for others!

"For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth." 1 Timothy 2:3-4 KJV
What is that good and acceptable in the sight of God?
It’s PRAYING - making; supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, made for all men, (ref: 1 Timothy 2:1).
To exhort you to pray is "Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, ... a teacher...in faith and verity" 1 Timothy 2:7.
A preacher, an apostle, and a teacher share same characteristics; i.e., they all should speak the truth in Christ, and lie not, (1 Timothy 2:7). Say, "I’m a good teacher! I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not!"
Why is it important that you speak the truth? It is good and acceptable in the sight of God. "who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth," and obviouslyYou shame the devil. Now, Paul is giving you and me directions to praying well, and here…

He counted me faithful

"And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry; Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief" 1 Timothy 1:12-13. I obtained mercy, Paul says, and grace, because in me first he taught me "all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting" 1 Timothy 1:16
And I like this part he says, that I became a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on Jesus for life everlasting. Don’t we all want to be like Paul?  I do, but wanting isn’t enough. You also have to make people stand to the end. God has to enable you, and then count you in.
Paul suffered, and endured throughout, not for his own glory, but Christ’s, and that’s all he wanted too, to see Christ gloried. If you’ve the same mindset you shall also be counted in. Please don’t be like some false prophets we know who made …

De-stressing yourself

How you can de-stress yourself!
You can actively shrink the load of stress you carry by changing your atmosphere and the way you think.
Follow these few simple ways;
Reduce clutter - put-off, cutoffpeople/things you don’t need.Organise - put your house in order, "present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service" Romans 12:1.Reframe - place your life in a new frame, you’re a new creature!Ask for help - there is always someone willing to helpLearn something new - adopt new skills, "Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God" 2 Corinthians 3:5.Meditate - have a quiet timeCount your blessings - your life is a miracle. David said, “So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom" Psalm 90:12.
More wisdom to you!
God bless, Laurence

We are his workmanship

Today I want you to know that you’re God’s work, a work of masterful creativity. God found you on the road to Jericho; and there you were dead in your trespasses and sins. You were just like all the others, full of sin, obeying Satan, the prince of the power of the air, who is at work right now in the hearts of those who are the children of disobedience.
But then when we say "you are his workmanship," we mean you were once dead, but now "you hath he quickened" Ephesians 2:1. God quickened your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. You are a his piece of work —  "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast" Ephesians 2:8-9. You are his workmanship, handiwork and artisanship!
He created you again "in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them" Ephesians 2:10. These good works you now do, is the reason you…

Unconscious Bias

I want to take you on a kind of unconscious bias journey.
How do you see the world around you?
We respond positively to people who we receive to be like us, and act against those who seems to be different. That’s alright in a life and death situation but not quite right among Christians, especially when dealing with God.
What is unconscious bias?
Unconscious bias refers to a bias that we are unaware of, and which happens outside of our control. It is a bias that happens automatically and is triggered by our brain making quick judgments and assessments of people and situations, influenced by our background, cultural environment and personal experiences.
These mental shortcuts may lead us astray, especially when they cause us to misjudge people.
When we see anyone, whether you think about it or not we automatically make judgements about them, and some assumptions we make on people can have lasting effects on people, for example those we serve God with.
I asked above that how do you see the wor…

To all the saints in Christ - Grace!

"Paul and Timotheus, the servants of Jesus Christ, to all the saints in Christ Jesus which are at Philippi, with the bishops and deacons: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ." Philippians 1:1-2
Grace to you all, and peace, from God. Grace is all you need my friend, and that’s what Paul is requesting on your behalf, grace "for your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now" Philippians 1:5.
In order to partake of this grace in your fellowships you need to stand firm "in the defence and confirmation of the gospel” Philippians 1:7.  I asked in my other post, Who are you following? And now let me ask you, Who are you fellowshipping with? Paul says, "Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel; And in nothing te…

The Lord will pay you for each good thing you do!

“Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen." Ephesians 6:24
Grace is not for everyone; it is for all those whose hearts are fixed, trusting in the Lord, yes, for you who do the will of God from the heart.
Sincerity is the absence of pretence, deceit, or hypocrisy in all your dealings.
Apostle Peter says, "Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings, As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious" 1 Peter 2:1-3. Your faith also has to be unquestionable; good faith!
The kind of word you listen to is good stuff; it lacks deceit, but is genuine, honest and truthful. I said it’s good faith, meaning the preacher you follow is trustworthy, straightforward and is full of integrity.
As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: desire good judgement, or prove all things.
Grace b…

Who are you following?

Each and every one of us will follow someone, however the person you follow will either lead you to fulfil your potential or will lead you to the wrong place.
Who are you following? A deaf-blind leader always lead someone into a ditch. Paul said, "Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour." Ephesians 5:1-2
He reminds us of who to follow and that person is none other than God himself who’s to lead you until you encounter his purpose and will.
Following God will lead you to a new birth with Jesus, and life in the spirit. You never go wrong with his plan. But if you follow people they’ll lead you to all uncleanness; idolatry, covetousness and fornication. "For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope..."Romans 8:20.

"Be not ye therefore partakers …

Walk worthy of the vocation!

God wouldn’t be God if we were to serve him whichever way we want. Jesus left us an example, that’s why he’s Christ. He left us a standard, a way or pattern worthy to be followed by us who believe. "And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them. According to all that I shew thee, after the pattern of the tabernacle, and the pattern of all the instruments thereof, even so shall ye make it" Exodus 25:1,8-9.

I don’t know how you are making yours, but I want you to know the things of God ain’t that confusing as is purported by false prophets. Remember, "There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all" Ephesians 4:4-6.
For that reason Paul says, "I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, With all l…
