Reverend LC Muzembi  Melchizedek was king of the city of Salem and also a priest of the Most High God. His name means King of Justice, King of righteousness and King of peace. Life story  Melchizedek had no father or mother and there is no record of any of his ancestors. He was never born and he never died but his life is like that of the Son of God - a priest forever. We learn from his life story that a priest’s other job is to bless those who have promises, (ref: Hebrews 7:6). Have we got any promise? Yes loads, and among others we’ve the promise of salvation. Anyway, I said Melchizedek’s life is like that of the Son of God - a priest forever.  After the Levitical priesthood God sends a new kind of priest, and we can plainly see that God's method changed, for Christ, the new High Priest who came with the rank of Melchizedek, as we all know, Christ did not belong to the priest-tribe of Levi, but came from the tribe of Judah, which had not been chosen for priesthood; Mos

A minister of the sanctuary!

Reverend LC Muzembi  " Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens; A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man " Hebrews 8:1-2 KJV. Christ, is our High Priest, in heaven next to God himself, there accomplishing the service of God. He ministers in the temple in heaven, and not on earth, but in the true tabernacle, the true place of worship.  A true church is that which the Lord himself pitched, not that built by some men. Christ is a minister of the sanctuary, of the true tabernacle, and is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices according to the will of God, "... he obtained a more excellent ministry... is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises " Hebrews 8:6. Hebrews 8:13 says, " In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that

Let us go on unto perfection!

Reverend Muzembi  " Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God " Hebrews 6:1 KJV. This is what happened to you when you got born again; You received and understood the Gospel  You realised how good the word of God is  You shared in the Holy Spirit You tasted for yourself the good things of heaven You tasted the powers of the world to come, and last but not least You received Christ. So now that you’re born again, the Lord willing, you need to go on to other things, that will make you even more stronger, and more mature in the faith. For " when the ground soaks up the falling rain and bears a good crop for the farmer, it has God's blessing. But if a field bears thorns and thistles, it is useless. The farmer will soon condemn that field and burn it. " Hebrews 6:7-8. This simply means, you have to demonstrate that y

They shall enter into my rest!

Reverend Muzembi  " There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God " Hebrews 4:9 KJV. Rest similar to the seventh day, wherein " God did rest the seventh day from all his works " Hebrews 4:4. Jesus is also according us with the same rest, and by entering into that rest, we also will cease from all our " own works, as God did from his " Hebrews 4:10. Under the Gospel dispensation,Christ has accorded us with Spiritual rest, rest from the burden of the law of Moses, and from all toil and labour for life, and salvation by works. We enjoy much inward peace of soul, notwithstanding the world's troubles and Satan's temptations. Such who believe the word or Gospel of Christ with the heart, and in truth, these enjoy this rest; they are kept in perfect peace, and have much spiritual ease and comfort: this character distinguishes them from the unbelieving Israelites of old, and from present hypocrites. What are you supposed to do? From day

We have a great high priest!

Reverend Muzembi  " So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee. As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec " Hebrews 5:5-6 KJV. Christ glorified not himself to be high priest, but was appointed by God himself, He was " Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec " Hebrews 5:10. After the order of Melchisedec , meaning, his priesthood is perpetual, he was not ordained by men, neither did he take this honour upon himself, but he was called of God; ".... for men in things pertaining to God, that [ he may without a break offer ] both gifts and sacrifices for sins... [and to] have compassion on the ignorant, and on them that are out of the way ..." Hebrews 5:1-2. Apostle Peter says, " The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward,

Harden not your heart!

While it is said, Today, harden not your heart, but hear his voice. " For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end " Hebrews 3:14 KJV. Remember this; Christ said, " My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand " John 10:27-28. The writer is teaching us to be proficient believers of Christ. You’ve to come to understand the norms and expectations, and accept what’s commonly believed concerning him, be aware of our Christian values. Becoming a believer is the only way you learn those norms and beliefs, and you should be aware of our societal values and expectations too, and do that right early in your Christian walk - today, harden not your heart. Hear only his voice, hold fast to it and continue in his love. We’ve been called to be partakers of the heavenly calling, we’re

I will put my trust in him!

Reverend Muzembi  " How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him; God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will? " Hebrews 2:3-4 KJV In  Hebrews chapter two, we see a transition of Testaments taking place; from old to new, ministry of angels to that of Christ and from that of priests to the disciples. Even though the ministry of angels was powerful, but the one administered by the Lord is even more powerful, for all things have been put under him to include that which will happen hereafter. Under the old covenant, man " was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope " Romans 8:20. But under Christ, man is " delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God &qu

Let all the angels of God worship him!

Reverend Muzembi  All bible truths revolve from Hebrews chapter one, it is the centreline of what you may want to know concerning the godhead. There is no excuse whatsoever, to not know the godhead, it is crystal clear here how each member functions, and for us it’s given to know the mystery of God. " For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time " 1 Timothy 2:5-6. Does God want you to know him? Yes He does, so that you may be saved, and come to " the knowledge of truth. " Here are a few truths for you to take home; God has a Son, " whom he hath appointed heir of all things... " Hebrews 1:2. He said, " Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son " Hebrews 1:5. Now that he’s a Son, He is " the brightness of his glory... " Hebrews 1:3. Is it okay for you to

God was preached unto the Gentiles!

Reverend LC Muzembi  " And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory " 1 Timothy 3:16 KJV. Gentile means a person not belonging to your own religion, or it simply means, not Jewish. When the disciples went about preaching, not only did they preach God, but they imposed on the new believers some of their traditions also, if not all. Paul said, " For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews' religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it: And profited in the Jews' religion above many my equals in mine own nation, being more exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my fathers " Galatians 1:13-14. You do not need to change your culture my friend, nor follow some traditions in order to be Christian, He changed you instead. There is no law eithe

The Lord said, I’ll not again!

Reverend LC Muzembi  Whoever tells you Coronavirus is an act of God, God has not sent him.  Here is why I choose to differ; " And the Lord smelled a sweet savour; and the Lord said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake; for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done " Genesis 8:21 KJV We hear of diseases in the Bible, some similar or worse than Coronavirus folks, but we don’t hear that believers blamed any of it on God, none among them said God is cleansing the earth, and why should we? Jesus " healed many that were sick of divers diseases, and cast out many devils; and suffered not the devils to speak... " Mark 1:34. Diseases in the bible were not just afflictions, leprosies or disabilities, but some were more serious viruses, infections, ailments, pestilences, plagues and cancers, and to make matters worse there wasn’t any c

As newborn babes, grow!

Have a desire to grow; if so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious. "Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings, As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious" 1 Peter 2:1-3. Right from where you are born again,  it is God’s word only, that’s able to make you grow and develop spiritually, all other methods/ways are hypocrisies, guile and evil speakings. Paul says in Galatians 1:3, " Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ. " It’s grace that exposes you to sound doctrine, or right people and to identifiable stages during that time you grow. Grace is presented for so you to know what to expect as you grow, develop and mature. You have your own grace because believers vary in the speed with which they reach every  milestone. Grace be to you, and peace; during this period,

Lord, teach us to pray!

It’s not something I hear believers do much, to ask their leaders to teach them to pray, but since we had this outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic, I’ve seen believers pray a lot, well done though, for praying. But the question is do you know how when where and what you should pray for as you ought? Anyway, Jesus said, " when ye pray, say... " Luke 11:2. A disciple of Christ should know how to pray according to the will of God, not to pray anyway you like. James said, " For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that " James 4:15. That teaches us to " Lay hands suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other men's sins: keep thyself pure " 1 Timothy 5:22. I see people ask for prayer for whatever reason, and an excited believer without giving thought already makes a rush to bind and curse  the devil, or to  bless and release spiritual blessings. But who has said it’s in the will of God to pray like that? Have you taken

Hold your tongue!

Reverend Muzembi  Here is how I would like to advise my friends, especially during these unprecedented events of Covid-19 pandemic  - Listen to this, hold your tongue! I sometimes look at some people and wonder, preachers who are quick with their lips, and I ask myself, couldn’t he just hold his peace, than that you rush to say things that even an angel wouldn’t say? Aren’t you ashamed when that you call prophecy misfires and never comes to fruition? I think people should be ashamed of themselves. If you make haste with your mouth, what you do is utter iniquity, and your tongue craftiness. Job said, " My lips shall not speak wickedness, nor my tongue utter deceit " Job 27:4. Wickedness is the quality of being morally wrong, and deceit is delivering fake news. As a believer your tongue shouldn’t say vile, empty or desolate words.  Don’t utter/say what yourself would be ashamed of. Paul said, " Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that w

This gospel of the kingdom!

The disciples came privately to Jesus and said, " Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? " Matthew 24:3. Famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, and nation rising against nation, are a beginning of sorrows, but it does not mean the end is come. One big sign of the end in scripture is that iniquity shall abound; it’s because many false prophets shall arise to deceive many, and worse off we " shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place " Matthew 24:15. And there shall be great tribulation. This of course will trigger his return. Isaiah 54:7 says, ” For a small moment have I forsaken thee; but with great mercies will I gather thee. " The days shall be shortened. But then Jesus said, " And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come " Matthew 24

Grace be unto you, and peace!

Reverend LC Muzembi  " To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colosse: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ " Colossians 1:2 KJV Grace be unto you, and peace with no limits, from God alone our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ. I pray when heaven opens, that it may not be for wrath, to condemn you, but for peace. My friend, your faith must be in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ alone, and none else. You may ask, why Jesus? Because it is through him we cry Abba Father. He alone is chosen of the father " for the hope which is laid up for you in heaven... " Colossians 1:5. It pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell. Only Jesus can bring you to that hope, by the word of truth which to us is peace. And here is grace, the word came to you also, and is bringing forth fruit, " as it doth also in you, since the day ye heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth " C
