The people of Israel

The journey of the people of Israel is a fascinating story, and understanding it could possibly make your own life story too. It began when God called Abraham, and said to him, "Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and come into the land which I shall shew thee" Acts 7:3.

He obeyed, and he left and lived in Haran, in a country they now call Israel. But God, gave him no "inheritance in it, no, not so much as to set his foot on: yet he promised that he would give it to him for a possession, and to his seed after him, when as yet he had no child" Acts 7:5.

So, God promised that eventually the whole country would belong to him and his descendants, but these descendants of his would leave the land and live in a foreign country and there become slaves for 400 years. He said  I will punish the nation that enslaves them, and afterwards they will return to this land of Israel and worship me here.

Later, Isaac was born, and Isaac had Jacob, and Jacob the 12 pa…

Devote yourself to the ministry of the word!

When a church grows, so do problems also, they come in all shapes and sizes, entirely because we come to the faith from different social backgrounds.

Now, it’s a challenging job to be a servant of God, that if one is not careful he end up serving tables, rather than spending time on prayer, preaching, teaching, or on the ministry of the word he’s been called to do. Peter said, "we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word" Acts 6:4.

Yesterday I released an article on what that means, and that we should preach about, that God brought Jesus back to life again, after he was killed by hanging on a cross, but then, with mighty power, God exalted him to be a Prince and Saviour, so that people would have an opportunity for repentance, and for their sins to be forgiven. "And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him" Acts 5:32.

I said God counted us worthy, we who are in …

Preach about this Life!

This is our light! That God brought Jesus back to life again, after he was killed by hanging on a cross, but then, with mighty power, God exalted him to be a Prince and Saviour, so that people would have an opportunity for repentance, and for their sins to be forgiven. "And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him" Acts 5:32.
God counted us worthy to preach to the people this gospel, and preaching everyday is grace. He wants us to meet everyday if we can and wherever possible, teaching and preaching Jesus Christ. I said if you can because verse 13 says, "Yet none of the rest dared join them, but the people esteemed them highly."  You may fail to meet-up, but esteem, respect the assembling together of believers. Esteem the Spirit of the Lord for we are co-workers, do not disrespect him.

God bless,

The obedience of faith!

" Now to him who is able to strengthen you according to my gospel and the proclamation about Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery kept silent for long ages but now revealed and made known through the prophetic Scriptures, according to the command of the eternal God to advance the obedience of faith among all the Gentiles - to the only wise God, through Jesus Christ-to him be the glory forever! Amen" Romans 16:25-27 CSB.

My friend, I know God is able to strengthen you  through these articles of mine. The preaching of Christ is so that you may have faith in him and as you obey him, you will be established, as you grow through his word.

God wants to establish you through scripture, and  reward you for your obedience of faith. But first, He must bring  into captivity your thoughts to the obedience of Christ; that you have “a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled" 2 Corinthians 10:5-6.

Obedience, i.e.  Your faith in him i…

Receive the gift of the Holy Spirit!

"And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance" Acts 2:4 KJV.
What does this mean? Speaking in tongues is a demonstration of the wonderful works of God, indicating that these are the last days, "saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh...before that great and notable day of the Lord come: And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved" Acts 2:17-21

God publicly endorsed the ministry of Jesus by by miracles, wonders and signs, which he did through him. In our days God also said he will cause extraordinary proofs to happen, some unusual signs of course, before that great and notable day of the Lord arrives. But do not be misled, not all would be of God.

"Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant" Paul says, I would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he th…

Your reasonable service!

"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God" Romans 12:1-2.

"...that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God..."

This is what it means to be a Christian; you gave your body to God, for all he has done for you. You received grace and sacrificed yourself too, to live in a way he finds acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him;  "the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him" John 4:23.

God is Spirit, so he must help us to worship him as we should, we don't copy the behaviour and customs of this world, but are transformed as vessels of mercy, and renewed in our minds, to …

What advantage does the Jew have?

"What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith. But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness" Romans 9:30-31 KJV
What shall we say about these things? Verse 26 and 27 says, "And it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people; there shall they be called the children of the living God. Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved."
Why will all Jews not be saved?  Because of unbelief; because they do not listen, also, "not all Israel, which are of Israel: neither, because they are the seed....That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed" Romans 9:6-8

Your kingdom come!

One of the disciples said to Jesus, "Lord, teach us to pray," and he said, "When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth" Luke 11:2.

"...Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven..." You find this in the King James Version, some other translations don’t have this, and you can understand why from scripture.

After resurrection the disciples came together and asked Jesus "Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth" Acts 1:6-8.

The Holy Ghost came to give us who believe an experience of "things pertaining to the ki…

The righteousness of God!

The righteousness that comes through faith is made possible by trusting Christ, he is near each one of us, through the word of faith, we preach;

"...That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation" Romans 10:8-10.

Anyone who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved; no one who believes in Christ will ever be disappointed, "for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him" Romans 10:12.
How welcome are those who come preaching God's Good News? "Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed?" Isaiah 53:1

We preach because God has sent us to bring to you "glad tidings of good things!" But first you have to believe the good news, believe in him, that the word of faith may work. To whom is the…

We can rejoice, too!

"Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God" Romans 5:1-2 KJV.

All because of what our Lord Jesus Christ has done for us;
we have peace with Godwe have access by faithwe glory in tribulations also "And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement" Romans 5:11.

We joy, because through Jesus Christ, this grace of God and the gift of righteousness came also upon us, resulting in our justification.
"...we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand...." I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord, through whom grace is multiplied in our lives, to counter the profusion of sin, that, just as sin reigned in death, so also will grace reign, resulting in eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. God’s love is shed abroad in our hearts …

The gospel of Christ!

The gospel of God, is that which pertains to His Son Jesus Christ, through him we have received grace and apostleship, to bring about the obedience of faith to all.

Our service is rendered to God, whom we serve by our spirits telling the good news about his Son.

Preaching the gospel is all manner of witnessing and imparting spiritual gifts on God’s people, the believers, the called of Jesus Christ, who are called to be saints. That method of believing is called faith, and mutual faith when we together believe.

"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith" Romans 1:16-17.

The gospel of God is that which concerns His Son. God can be known only through the gospel of Christ, and that which may be known of God has now been made manifest in us; for God r…

Experience God's peace!

"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things" Philippians 4:8 KJV

Yes my friend, stay true to the Lord, remember he is coming soon. If you do this, you will experience God's peace, and it’s peace which will keep you through this journey.  The Lord said, "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you" John 14:27. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. And the Apostle said, "Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you" Philippians 4:9.

In short, read your bible, study it through, receive its truths with open heart or the hearing of faith, acknowledge and practice what you’ve  read o…

Walk by the same rule!

"Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample. (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.) Philippians 3:17-19 KJV.

Some Christians don’t realize this, that it is not every man who says "God God" who has faith. You have to watch out, and you need to be able to notice those who live up to it for your good example.
1. Beware of evil workers "Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the mutilation!" Philippians 3:2.

Many who walk along as Christians are really not what they profess, some are the enemies of the cross of Christ; men whose god is their belly, and proud of what they should be ashamed of; and all they think about is life here on earth. Watch out for those wicked men.
2. But, notice those who live …

Let this mind be in you!

The Apostle says, Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus" Philippians 2:5. Who, "being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross" Philippians 2:8. Your attitude should also be same with his, "who, though he was God, did not demand and cling to his rights as God."

He said, "Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves" Philippians 2:3. Do not live to make a good impression on others folks, yet be humble, think of others as better than yourself.

He said, "Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind" Philippians 2:2.

Fulfil ye my joy!, and you are asking me how? He said cheer others up! Help other believers, and comfort those who mourn in Zion, if it mean anything to you that we are brothers in the Lord, sharing the same Spirit?

Here is my…

Approve things that are excellent

"And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment; That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ; Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God" Philippians 1:9-11 KJV.

My prayer for you my friend is that you may grow more in spiritual insight, and in knowledge and in all judgment. I want you always to approve things that are excellent, and that you be sincere and without offence till the Lord returns, for this will bring glory and praise to God.

Grow more in spiritual insight, that everything happening around you isn’t  "as though some strange thing happened unto you" 1 Peter 4:12. But whether you’re in need, bonds, trials, persecutions, or is life or death; remember your life is now "set for the defence of the gospel" Philippians 1:17. Paul said, "For unto you it is given in th…

Develop relationships!

Hi my friend, today I just want to say develop relationships. Build a rapport with the people of God, and relationships have to be continuous, and lives should improve as a result of the friendship.
"Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life" Jude 1:21
Make others feel valued; listen and communicate with them. Understand their needs, be respectful, honest and supportive. Hold conversations at the appropriate time and place, understanding the value of regular, reliable contact and recognising that it takes time to build a relationship.

Jesus said, "A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another" John 13:34. He loved us to the end!

God bless,

Spiritual gifts!

"Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant" 1 Corinthians 12:1.

First my friend, understand the mystery of God, that God is one. Acknowledge the Father, acknowledge Christ,  that he’s Lord, acknowledge also the Holy Spirit, and recognise their individuality. Just as you confess Christ, agree also that God is, the Father, and the Holy Spirit your Helper, and each stand alone for who they’re to you.

This is the mystery of the godhead; know who is responsible for what;

God the Father deals with all kinds of operations, vs 6.The Lord bestowed upon us different kinds of administrations/services, vs 5.The Holy Spirit is the source of different kinds of spiritual gifts, vs 4.
1. God the Father, diversities of operations  God distinctively works in all of us. He gave us Jesus, he gave us the Holy Ghost to inspire , energise, and empower us. He produces all these in all believers.
2. The Lord bestowed upon us different kinds of administrations/servic…

Love the brotherhood

"I hear of your love and of your faith which you have toward the Lord Jesus and toward all the saints (God's people). I pray that the sharing of your faith may become effective and powerful because of your accurate knowledge of every good thing which is ours in Christ" Philemon 1:5-6.

People should hear good things about you, only good news, your LOVE towards all saints, and  your FAITH in Christ. As a believer, keep breathing love, unleash all your potential, and continue to trust in the Lord, and in his people, that the communication of your faith may be effectual. Paul says, "Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men" 2 Corinthians 3:2.

Acknowledge all the graces of God in you, put them to use, and remember "the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal" 1 Corinthians 12:7. Where you love, love to the end. Don’t forget Jesus, "having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto t…

Christ is all, and in all

It is grace and grace alone which makes us "... stand perfect and complete in all the will of God" Colossians 4:12.

And this is the will of God, that you

"...Take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfil it" Colossians 4:17. Be sure to do everything, and all.
1. Pray "Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving" Colossians 4:2. Employ prayer in all it’s forms; supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, and when you have prayed watch for God's answers, and remember to be thankful when they come.
2. Read the bible  Paul says, "Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time. Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man" Colossians 4:5-6. We’re in this journey together, not as lone wolves. Jesus said, "What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety a…

Set your affection on things above!

"If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God" Colossians 3:1-3 KJV.

Through Christ we’ve been born again into a new life. We became alive through Christ, and our hope is now laid up for us in heaven; there our great High Priest is, "A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man" Hebrews 8:2.

Now, that you became alive, "set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth." Seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth - do not continue to serve God through the letter or in same old ways when a more excellent ministry, something better is come. Let heaven fill your thoughts.

The apostle said, "Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; And have put on the new…

The mystery of God

As a believer, you should acknowledge the mystery of God. You need clear understanding of the godhead, that God is one.

Acknowledge the Father, acknowledge also Christ, but because we say God is one, the temptation is to accept one while we reject, deny or do not recognise the other’s individuality. But, just as you confess Christ, agree also, or admit, approve and declare that God is, the Father, and each one for who they’re to you.

Apostle Paul said, "And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words," Colossians 2:4. He said, "Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ" Colossians 2:8.

We had a go on this discussion when we were studying Hebrews Chapter 1. There I said there is no excuse for us whatsoever, to not know the godhead, and how each member functions. It’s given for us to know the mystery of God, that ‘there is one God, and one m…

The hope of the gospel

What the truth of the gospel is all about;

It is about Faith, Hope and Love.
your faith in Christ Jesus, your love for all the saints, and among othersyour hope for eternal life. "For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God" Colossians 1:9-10 KJV.

Walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God, that should be your aim.
1. your faith in Christ Jesus,  Trust the Lord;
"In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins" Colossians 1:14
Get the message with real certainty, and clear understanding of what he wants you to do;the way you live should always be to please the Lord and to honour him, so that y…
