Christ is all, and in all

It is grace and grace alone which makes us "... stand perfect and complete in all the will of God" Colossians 4:12.

And this is the will of God, that you

"...Take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfil it" Colossians 4:17. Be sure to do everything, and all.

1. Pray

"Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving" Colossians 4:2. Employ prayer in all it’s forms; supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, and when you have prayed watch for God's answers, and remember to be thankful when they come.

2. Read the bible

Paul says, "Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time. Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man" Colossians 4:5-6. We’re in this journey together, not as lone wolves. Jesus said, "What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it? And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost. I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance" Luke 15:4-7. Even so, there is joy in heaven when you count others with you too.

3. Love the brotherhood

Remember,  we have been chosen by God, it is him who has given us this new life, to practice kindness, humility, meekness, long suffering and forgiveness to others. He says, "But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful" Colossians 3:14-15.
It is a privilege and our responsibility as believers, to be adorned with these characteristics.

God bless,
Laurence

Sit down, Martha!

The story of Martha and Mary tells us that there are two types of Christians out there; where one is a worshipper and another is a waitperson or server. You can choose what you want to be, that’s to be a worshipper or server. But listen to this before you do;"Now it happened as they went that He entered a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus' feet and heard His word. But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, "Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me." And Jesus answered and said to her, "Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her."" Luke 10:38-42.Mary chose the best part, to sit down at his feet and not be worried, frustrated, confused and troubled ab…

Spirits are subject to you!

In Luke 10, Jesus sends seventy others, two by two into every city and place where He Himself was about to go.He said to them go your way; "And heal the sick there, and say to them, 'The kingdom of God has come near to you.'’ Luke 10:9 They came back thrilled and excited. This is the same experience we should have when we give out the Word of God, and when we pray for the sick and heal them. How glorious we feel also when more labourers are come into His harvest!Luke said, "the seventy returned with joy, saying, "Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name." And He said to them, "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven." Luke 10:17-20.Satan’s new home is t…

The sign of Jonah

And while the crowds were thickly gathered together, He began to say, "This is an evil generation. It seeks a sign, and no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah the prophet, Luke 11:29 NKJV.Jesus looked at our generation and concluded; This is an evil generation. A profoundly immoral and wicked generation; very ungodly, sinful, corrupt, demonic and shocking because it seeks a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah the prophet. It seeks a sign, meaning that they thought what Jesus was doing was funfair, circus or some form of joke or entertainment. It’s a generation that never took the things of God serious for themselves."Others, testing Him, sought from Him a sign from heaven" Luke 11:16. They cross-examined Him about many things, but He said no sign will be given to [this generation] except the sign of Jonah the prophet.Paul bemoaned how the Corinthians sought for proof of Christ speaking in him. He said, "I pray to God that you…
