Receive the gift of the Holy Spirit!

"And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance" Acts 2:4 KJV.

What does this mean?

Speaking in tongues is a demonstration of the wonderful works of God, indicating that these are the last days, "saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh...before that great and notable day of the Lord come: And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved" Acts 2:17-21

God publicly endorsed the ministry of Jesus by by miracles, wonders and signs, which he did through him. In our days God also said he will cause extraordinary proofs to happen, some unusual signs of course, before that great and notable day of the Lord arrives. But do not be misled, not all would be of God.

"Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant" Paul says, I would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying. He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church" (ref: 1 Corinthians 14:4-5).

Speaking in tongues is not the only evidence that you are filled with the Holy Spirit, "For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will" 1 Corinthians 12:8-11.

Paul said, desire spiritual gifts; "Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues" 1 Corinthians 14:39.

As soon as Jesus was crucified, he died and rose again to life, and ascended in heaven, and being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he poured out upon us.

But, we know also, that these are the last days, that antichrist will come, even now are there many antichrists, "For many deceivers are entered into the world....This is a deceiver and an antichrist" 2 John 1:7. We know them because they transgressed, and they abide not in the doctrine of Christ. Beware of evil men, beware of the man of sin. "Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world" 1 John 4:1. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

What should we do?

"Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call" Acts 2:37-39.

Christ promised the Holy Spirit to each one of us, we need to just ask and receive this gift of the Holy Spirit.

The mystery of the kingdom of God

And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables: That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them, Mark 4:11-12 KJV.
The secret of the kingdom of God is given to you who look and perceive, listen and understand, you such as have teachable hearts which can easily be converted towards the way of salvation.
But the unbelievers are not so, they’re spiritually blind, they see, but perceive not; they hear but do not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them. Many is  because, instead of responding to the gospel in faith, they were rejecting it, and are such as would not receive further truth.
Now listen my friend, Jesus said, "If anyone has ears to hear, let him listen." And he said to them, "Pay at…

You need deliverance?

Jesus and his disciples arrived in the country of the Gerasenes,
And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit, Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains: Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him, Mark 5:2-4.
His demonic strength kept anyone from being able to bind or team him, but by night and day his screams were heard as he slit himself with stones.
But upon seeing Jesus the man bowed down before him and the demon cried out, "What do you have to do with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg you before God, don't torment me!" For Jesus had been saying to him, “Come out of the man, you unclean spirit!”
Jesus asked the demon his name. My name is Legion; for we are many, he replied. The demon continued begging Jesus not to send them…

They were offended at him!

But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house, Mark 6:4 KJV.
Jesus came to Nazareth, His hometown, accompanied by His disciples. On the Sabbath he was asked to speak in the synagogue and those who listened were astonished, marveling at His wisdom and wondering about its source. They also wondered about the miracles He was performing.
"Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him, Mark 6:3.
He came to his country, to his own people in order to bless them, but marvelled because of their unbelief, and that prevented him from doing a miracle there, except that he laid his hands on a few sick people and healed them, but instead "he went round about the villages, teaching" Mark 6:6.
Why couldn’t he do anymore miracles there? It’s because they scrutinised him, judged him, and cr…
