The mystery of God

Reverend LC Muzembi
As a believer, you should acknowledge the mystery of God. You need clear understanding of the godhead, that God is one.

Acknowledge the Father, acknowledge also Christ, but because we say God is one, the temptation is to accept one while we reject, deny or do not recognise the other’s individuality. But, just as you confess Christ, agree also, or admit, approve and declare that God is, the Father, and each one for who they’re to you.

Apostle Paul said, "And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words," Colossians 2:4. He said, "Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ" Colossians 2:8.

We had a go on this discussion when we were studying Hebrews Chapter 1. There I said there is no excuse for us whatsoever, to not know the godhead, and how each member functions. It’s given for us to know the mystery of God, that ‘there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time" 1 Timothy 2:5-6.

Does God want you to know him? Yes He does, so that you may be saved, and come to "the knowledge of truth."

Here are a few truths for you to take home;

Agree or admit that God has a Son, "whom he hath appointed heir of all things..." Hebrews 1:2. He said, "Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son" Hebrews 1:5. Now that he’s a Son, He is "the brightness of his glory..." Hebrews 1:3.

Is it okay for you to worship the Son? Certainly, it does no harm for you to worship him because God said, "let all the angels of God worship him" Hebrews 1:6. However, you should know he’s more of an intercessor/mediator for you, to ransom you and reconcile you back to the Father. This the reason he’s "sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high" Hebrews 1:3.  You shouldn’t confuse their roles. Philosophy, even Theology teaches us otherwise.

Theology is tradition of men, are rudiments of the world, but not what  Christ taught us. In John 17:25-26 He said, "O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me. And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it..."

"Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God" Colossians 2:18-19. Trinity is the evidence, proof that man by wisdom cannot know God.

Don't let anyone assert  that you are  lost because you refuse to accept their theology. Some of the things they teach "have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body" Colossians 2:23, but they have no effect when it comes to doing God’s will.

God bless,
Laurence

Sit down, Martha!

The story of Martha and Mary tells us that there are two types of Christians out there; where one is a worshipper and another is a waitperson or server. You can choose what you want to be, that’s to be a worshipper or server. But listen to this before you do;"Now it happened as they went that He entered a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus' feet and heard His word. But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, "Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me." And Jesus answered and said to her, "Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her."" Luke 10:38-42.Mary chose the best part, to sit down at his feet and not be worried, frustrated, confused and troubled ab…

Your fellowship in the gospel

As we fellowship with each other as believers, remember that our fellowship is only in the gospel. We love the brotherhood with the affection of Jesus Christ only, nothing more.Apostle Paul says, "And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment, that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ, being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God," Philippians 1:9-11.So, as you fellowship with other believers, always remember that your job as a Christian is to ensure the progress of others and joy of faith, and to defend the gospel. The Apostle says, "Only let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so...that you may stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel." Philippians 1:27.Be like-minded; help each other, work together with one heart, be warm-h…

Be filled with all the fullness of God

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,Ephesians 1:3.Did you know, that He chose us in Christ, according to the good pleasure of His will, and made us accepted in the Beloved? And "predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself," Ephesians 1:5. Now because we’re sons, He has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in heavenly places. You don’t find that anywhere my friend, except in Christ. Now, my prayer for you is that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you also the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, that you may understand the mystery of His will, the mystery of Christ, that He purposed in himself to gather together in one all things in Christ, He has put all things under His feet, both which are in heaven and which are on earth, and we ourselves also have our redemption through His blood. We were gentiles,…
