Many gods, many lords, but there is no other God like Yahweh, "For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,) But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him" 1 Corinthians 8:5-6 KJV
According to some people, a god is anything that is revered as divine or sacred, no wonder some animals and people are worshipped, and there are numerous gods, both in heaven and on earth. But we Christians know, that there is only one God, the Father, who created all things and made us to be his own, whose real name is Yahweh; and one Lord Jesus Christ, who made everything and gives us life.
Apostle Paul says, "we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one" 1 Corinthians 8:4. However, some Christians don't realize this.
Now concerning things offered to idols, hear this, "food does not commend us to God; for neither if we eat are we the better, nor if we do not eat are we the worse" 1 Corinthians 8:8. "For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost" Romans 14:17.
But, Paul says, I’ll not eat food offered to idols lest a brother who is weak may see me eating, and my freedom will make a brother perish, for whom Christ died, for why should the liberty of yours become a stumbling block to those who are weak?
Then he said, "if anyone thinks that he knows anything, he knows nothing yet as he ought to know. But if anyone loves God, this one is known by Him" 1 Corinthians 8:2-3. What makes us feel important? It is doing what is really needed, to build the church in love, and the person who truly loves God is the one who is open to God's knowledge.

What’s an idol?
An idol is any of these man-made gods, that are worshipped, venerated and revered instead of worshipping the one and only true God. Several of them are concepts developed by various philosophers to drag you into worshiping the devil.Apostle Paul says, "we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one" 1 Corinthians 8:4.
