"godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death" 2 Corinthians 7:10.
Pain should cause you to repent and change your ways. It’s the kind of sorrow God wants his people to have.
So when I preach to you like this, the intention is not to harm you my friend, but it’s to produce in you repentance that leads to salvation without regret. Paul said, "I now rejoice, not because you were grieved, but because your grief led to repentance. For you were grieved as God willed, so that you didn't experience any loss from us" 2 Corinthians 7:9.
You don’t lose anything by reading my articles as some people claim, "for observe this very thing, that you sorrowed in a godly manner: What diligence it produced in you, what clearing of yourselves, what indignation, what fear, what vehement desire, what zeal, what vindication! In all things you proved yourselves to be clear in this matter" 2 Corinthians 7:11.
Romans 5:3-5 says, "And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us."
I write, so that in the sight of God you may judge and see for yourselves how I have spoken to you the truth.
"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you" Philippians 4:8-9.
Receive us; "dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God" 2 Corinthians 7:1.
God bless,
Laurence
