Who is my mother, or my brethren?

His mother and his brothers came, and standing outside, they sent word to Jesus and called him. A crowd was sitting around him and told him, "Look, your mother, your brothers, and your sisters are outside asking for you." He replied to them, "Who are my mother and my brothers?" Looking at those sitting in a circle around him, he said, "Here are my mother and my brothers! Whoever does the will of God is my brother and sister and mother."

While he was busy with ministry work, his mother and his brothers came, and standing outside, they sent word to Jesus and called him trying to interrupt what he was doing.  Mark 3:21 says, "...his family...set out to restrain him, because they said, "He's out of his mind." He is beside himself.

They thought they had a claim on Him taking precedence over other matters. If you’re a preacher you know what I’m talking about, how your family comes, and they send word for you, and say call him/her to us. But Jesus said, whoever does the will of God, he is my brother and sister and mother.

He’s not dishonouring family values that God established at creation, but is simply asserting that physical relationship is not the proper access to Him, but doing the Father’s will gives evidence that one is properly related, "For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother" Matthew 12:50.

Sit down, Martha!

The story of Martha and Mary tells us that there are two types of Christians out there; where one is a worshipper and another is a waitperson or server. You can choose what you want to be, that’s to be a worshipper or server. But listen to this before you do; " Now it happened as they went that He entered a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus' feet and heard His word. But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, "Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me." And Jesus answered and said to her, "Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her. "" Luke 10:38-42. Mary chose the best part, to sit down at his feet and not be worried, frustrated, confused and troubl

The Great Flood

May the LORD say to you, " Come into the ark, you and all your household, because I have seen that you are righteous before Me in this generation, " Genesis 7:1. Yes, may it become true of you that you are righteous, right standing before Him in this generation. If it’s the case, The LORD will shut you in, He will spread his royal pavilion over you. David says, " For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; In the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock, " Psalm 27:5.  My friend, you need the Lord like never before, to hide you when all living things around you are destroyed by this great flood, this pandemic of our time. But like Noah, remain alive in the ark my friend. Similar Posts  Let there be light The history of creation Life in God’s garden Trees are good Where is your brother? The sons of God saw the daughters of men

God created man, both male and female he created them; he first formed man, Adam, " of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being, " Genesis 2:7. Secondly, the LORD God said, " It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him, " Genesis 2:18. The LORD then caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, " and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. Then the rib which the LORD God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man. And Adam said: "This is now bone of my bones And flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, Because she was taken out of Man, " Genesis 2:21-23. I hear Paul say, " For man is not from woman, but woman from man, " 1 Corinthians 11:8. And Moses says man are sons of God, and women are daughters of men. Eve when she conceived and bore Cain, she said, " I have acquired a
