How can this be

Many people have taken in hand to set in order a narrative of the birth, ministry, passion, death, resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ, and of "those things which have been fulfilled among us." Luke 1:1, of the Son of God, partaking of flesh and blood and dwelling among us as is preached to you by us, that he died on the cross  purchasing your redemption. Paul says, "By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain." 1 Corinthians 15:2.

I am not the only one who is making a declaration of these things which are believed among us, for many also have taken in hand to do the same.

But Luke said, "It seemed good to me also, having had perfect understanding of all things from the very first, to write unto thee in order, most excellent Theophilus, That thou mightest know the certainty of those things, wherein thou hast been instructed." Luke 1:3-5.

I’m also doing the same, so that you may have same perfect understanding, and know in summary the certainty of those things you have believed, or  you were instructed on, so that you may continue to be reassured. Yes, you heard me right; you only need to know, keep or retain a summary of it.
"Simon Peter said to Him, "Lord, not my feet only, but  [wash] also my hands and my head!" Jesus said to him, "He who is bathed needs only to wash his feet, but is completely clean; and you are clean..." John 13:9-10

Keep in memory a summary of the whole, there is no need for you to memorise the whole Bible. A summary is a record in your own words, that gives the main points of what you understood when you read the Bible. It is also possible to summarise something that you have heard, such as a sermon, or something you have seen and heard, such as a video. The witnesses here memorised in part what they heard and saw.

The Bible was written in summary; Apostle John said, "And there are also many other things that Jesus did, which if they were written one by one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that would be written..."And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name." John 20:30-31.

That which should make you "believe and have life in His name" are small things, small as a mustard seed - which when sown/received will grow in you. "The apostles said to the Lord, "Increase our faith." So the Lord said, "If you have faith as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, 'Be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea,' and it would obey you." Luke 17:5-6.

Each writer wrote in their own words, and sometimes quoting words of others, but focusing on what they themselves had retained. But the Holy Spirit influenced their writing, that although the bible was written in summary; it has all you need to know concerning God or your salvation. Looking at the whole Bible, only a few things therein will make you get knowledge, get understanding, revelation and wisdom from above.

There is enough content to make you wise; to see or know, believe, or to make you be born of the spirit, drink the living water, eat the bread of life, make you rich towards God, or keep you from falling and to make you inherit eternal life.

Remember the parable of the hidden treasure; for, "the kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid; and for joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field." Matthew 13:44.

The Bible is that field, with the hidden treasure "the kingdom of heaven" hidden in it.

"Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking beautiful pearls, who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it." Matthew 13:45-46.

The Bible is so valuable to us as Christians - beautiful pearls of great price are in it, but how do you read it?  Solomon said, "Buy the truth, and do not sell it, Also wisdom and instruction and understanding" Proverbs 23:23.

The prophet Isaiah said, "Whom will he teach knowledge? And whom will he make to understand the message? Those just weaned from milk? Those just drawn from the breasts? For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, Line upon line, line upon line, Here a little, there a little.
[God wants to teach or give you knowledge; especially when you are new and you have a desire to grow, He wants you to understand first the message of his will.]
For with stammering lips and another tongue He will speak to this people, To whom He said, "This is the rest with which You may cause the weary to rest," And, "This is the refreshing"; Yet they would not hear.
But the word of the LORD was to them, "Precept upon precept, precept upon precept, Line upon line, line upon line, Here a little, there a little," That they might go and fall backward, and be broken And snared and caught. Therefore hear the word of the LORD..." Isaiah 28:9-14.

What the prophet is saying is, the word of the LORD is food for your soul, as you read it and hear it have an ear of the learned, be born of the spirit, allow the spirit of truth to flow through you and to teach you , it’s him who will give you a refreshing, he will cause you to understand it’s precepts, and release it’s treasures (gifts) in you as you read it - Line upon line, Here a little, there a little.

How shall I know this? How can this be?

We’ve a story of Zachariah and Elizabeth his wife here for a reason, it’s not coincidental, but is a type of you who were by your carnal mind trying to serve or receive from God. An angel of the Lord appeared to him when their faith had turned into darkness, and he said, "Do not be afraid, Zacharias, for your prayer is heard; and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John. And you will have joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth." Luke 1:13-14.

What’s the joy?  It’s not going to be a struggle anymore because something of the spirit is being born through you.

Yourself too, my friend; Do not be afraid, for your prayer has also been heard; and you will have joy and gladness, you never had before, and you will rejoice, because help is on the way

The angel answered and said to Mary, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God.

"For with God nothing will be impossible." Luke 1:37.

Mary visits Elisabeth, "And it happened, when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, that the babe leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit." Luke 1:41.

These two would help define the future, a new era, they leaped or jumped us over into, the New Testament, the new covenant, to a new kind of worship, worshiping the Father in spirit and truth, no wonder Jesus said marvel not that I say unto you, you must be born again, of the water and the spirit, that you must be filled with the Holy Spirit.

The job of the Holy Spirit in you is to bring fulfilment of the word of God in your life; fulfilment of the promise, prophecy, of truth, his divine will and the supply of the spirit of  Christ.

How can this be?

For the Son of God to be born, indeed, would be by  the work of God. Mary realised, that it can only be by a miracle, and this is how miracles happen; "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you..." Luke 1:35.

Overshadowing means the Holy Spirit will come and raise a standard in your life, will tower above the impossible, will obscure, block out surpass and outshine your human qualities, will mask you and appear more prominent. He is a gentleman, he comes only when invited or when you believe the spoken word of God.

God who has spoken to you has also spoken to your relative Elizabeth. She has believed and has conceived a son in her old age, "For with God nothing will be impossible." Luke 1:37.

Mary realised, that it can be made possible only by the spoken word of God, and then she said, "Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word." Luke 1:38

My friend, that miracle you need; may happen only according to God’s word; believe it and the Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you, and that only God can do will happen to you also.

Do not be afraid, because your prayer has been heard; "Blessed is she who believed, for there will be a fulfillment of those things which were told her from the Lord." Luke 1:45.

God is in your life for a reason, "To perform the mercy [He] remember His holy covenant," Luke 1:72. The job of the Holy Spirit in you is to bring fulfilment of the word of God in your life; fulfilment of the promise, prophecy, of truth, his divine will and the supply of the spirit of  Christ. That which is to make you rejoice is inside you already, and now is the time for it to become alive, that your joy may be full.

Sit down, Martha!

The story of Martha and Mary tells us that there are two types of Christians out there; where one is a worshipper and another is a waitperson or server. You can choose what you want to be, that’s to be a worshipper or server. But listen to this before you do; " Now it happened as they went that He entered a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus' feet and heard His word. But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, "Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me." And Jesus answered and said to her, "Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her. "" Luke 10:38-42. Mary chose the best part, to sit down at his feet and not be worried, frustrated, confused and troubl

Why Lord why me?

Many people ask; why Lord why me? Hezekiah said, " indeed it was for my own peace That I had great bitterness; But You have lovingly delivered my soul from the pit of corruption, For You have cast all my sins behind Your back ," Isaiah 38:17. Did you hear that? All things work for your good. God loves you regardless. However, that you do in the prime of your life impacts the remainder of your years, even hereafter. If you’re born again, you allow the Lord to undertake, but if you’re not born again you certainly deprive your latter years. Hezekiah had boils and was supposed to die because of them. He said, "I shall go to the gates of Sheol" and sin shall make an end of me. But when he repented, God undertook deliverance for him, he said, " What shall I say? He has both spoken to me, And He Himself has done it. I shall walk carefully all my years in the bitterness of my soul, " Isaiah 38:15 knowing that God has restored me. For this reason, he said I’ll prai

How much do people know about you?

Hezekiah answered, " They have seen all that is in my house; there is nothing among my treasures that I have not shown them, " Isaiah 39:4. I can hear Isaiah say, " What? " Then Hezekiah said, it doesn’t matter Isaiah, " They came to me from a far country, from Babylon ." What can they do? Then Isaiah said to Hezekiah, " Hear the word of the LORD of hosts: 'Behold, the days are coming when all that is in your house, and what your fathers have accumulated until this day, shall be carried to Babylon; nothing shall be left,' says the LORD. 'And they shall take away some of your sons who will descend from you, whom you will beget; and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon .'" Isaiah 39:5-7. How much do people know about you my friend? Everything? Then hear the word of the Lord! This reminds me of one president. Someone said of him I don't think he can now be trusted with intelligence briefing, and in the futur
