Your fellowship in the gospel

Paul said always in every prayer of mine I make request " for your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now ," Philippians 1:5. Our congregations need prayers; pray for the shepherd and pray for the sheep too. Paul says as you come together; " And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment, that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ, being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God, " Philippians 1:9-11  Yes,  there are limited, or zero, checks and balances in some churches, but you pray commune with God or one another to see whether the things you’re doing are so, that all of you may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ, being filled with the fruits of righteousness, each one of you.  As love is a fruit of the spirit, so is knowledge and discernment - buy the

Sanctify yourselves in holiness!

"… because of the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, of which you heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel, which has come to you, as it has also in all the world, and is bringing forth fruit, as it is also among you since the day you heard and knew the grace of God in truth, " Colossians 1:5-6 I’m grateful to God that this word came to you also, and my prayer is may this very word bring forth fruit in you too as it has also in all the world, that as you hear it too you may know the grace of God in truth. It is the will of God that as you hear His word, " you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God, " Colossians 1:9-10.  Christ is that word, He wants " to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight- if indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and

Character of the new man

When Christ came, He appeared that you as His follower you may " put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him ," Colossians 3:10. He appeared to give you a new birth, that you put off your old self with his deeds and put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him. He appeared to give you a new character, that as you have received Him you may walk in newness of life. The character of your new being/birth is now " tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another ... even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do ," Colossians 3:12-13. Put on love, and obedience, and " let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord, " Colossians 3:16. Put off selfishness also. He appeare

Not Philosophy but Christ

Paul says we do not " cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding ," Colossians 1:9. As far as our HOPE is concerned, your faith must be placed in Christ Jesus alone my friend, and I say hope according to " the Word of the Truth of the Gospel, " and nothing else. Simply speaking, 2022 as you will be taught, endeavour to hear the true gospel of Christ, for only it will bring forth in you the fruit of the spirit. I say so because some believers have not been bringing forth the fruit of the spirit in themselves, but were rather fruitful in philosophy. For example, the kind of peace/love the world teaches is not the same as loving in the spirit. Paul says, know " the grace of God in truth; as you also learned from Epaphras, our dear fellow servant, who is a faithful minister of Christ on your behalf, who also declared to us your love in the Spirit, " Colossians 1:6-8. You can

How to achieve your vision

" Now Jabez was more honorable than his brothers, and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, "Because I bore him in pain." And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, "Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!" So God granted him what he requested ." 1 Chronicles 4:9-10  If you want to achieve your vision, then you are saying I want more opportunities to develop, and learn new skills. Learning becomes a critical part of the strategy to  improvement of life - a better life, career, pay, etc. So you challenge self, fail, and try new things - never give up! You take ownership, and see things through, embrace new processes and platforms, and most importantly, you show that you care for your future life. This is it that will lead you to a better life, business or greater fulfilment.  Laurence Muzembi

Are you ready to negotiate for success?

For David to fight Goliath it wasn’t that easy, he had to negotiate through, first with his three brothers, some soldiers and " when the words which David spoke were heard, they reported them to Saul; and he sent for him. Then David said to Saul, "Let no man's heart fail because of him; your servant will go and fight with this Philistine." And Saul said to David, "You are not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him; for you are a youth, and he a man of war from his youth." But David said to Saul, "Your servant used to keep his father's sheep, and when a lion or a bear came and took a lamb out of the flock, I went out after it and struck it, and delivered the lamb from its mouth; and when it arose against me, I caught it by its beard, and struck and killed it. Your servant has killed both lion and bear; and this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, seeing he has defied the armies of the living God." Moreover David s

Are you listening?

Hearing actively, or listening to God is key for the believers in their walk with him. The question is, are you a good listener? Sometimes we think that we are good listeners but God himself says we are all not good listeners.  He says to Ezekiel, "Son of man, you dwell in the midst of a rebellious house, which has eyes to see but does not see, and ears to hear but does not hear; for they are a rebellious house," Ezekiel 12:2. So what we call listening is sometimes the opposite of what God expects us to be doing.  Listening, but not giving Him your full attention isn’t listening. Being a good listener means setting aside every distraction, and focusing fully, and not paying attention to what will be going on in your head while you’re listening. You’re definitely not listening if you’re just planning what you’re going to say next.  Telling God what you are going to be doing isn’t listening, and so is praying. There is a time for everything; a time to pray, a time to listen and

Learn to persevere…

If you want to change your life for the good, you will probably need to learn to persevere and prevail. Continue fighting until you obtain! Perseverance is persistence in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success, and prevailing is to triumph or defeat an opponent especially in a long or difficult contest. Satan is a great example, he is your chief opposer, but he does not work alone - he works with situations, and evil workers also, who are just there to make you stumble. But 1 Peter 5:8-9 says, "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith… " Zechariah saw in a vision, that no one should get through life’s challenges without help. The problem with spiritual warfare you will be frustrated if you want to do it alone. You can’t do anything for yourself, you can’t even stand up. Noticing Joshua’s dilemma, " the LORD said to Satan, "The LORD

The Spectacles of Love

We know God through love, loving one another.  "He who does not love does not know God, for God is love," 1 John 4:8. "Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another," 1 John 4:11 Only love gives us the assurance we want, that we know him, we have no fear, but boldness on the day of judgment. But love  aught to have been perfected among us to see us through. He who claims he knows God must first wear his spectacles of love, “And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him,” 1 John 4:16.  Jesus said it’s a new commandment, and you as a believer should realise how important it is to love, to love your brother also. One can’t see as they should without the spectacles of love. Who is a liar? One whose speech is cheap, measly and worthless; who says I love God, yet hates his brother or sister, that kind of love or faith is substandard, is below what is required. There is yet

You’re unique

Think what a remarkable, none duplicatable and miraculous thing it is to be you! Of all the people who have come and gone on the earth, since the beginning of time, not ONE of them is like YOU! No one who has ever lived or is to come has had your combination of abilities, talents, appearance, friends, acquaintances, burdens, sorrows and opportunities. No one’s hair grows exactly the way yours does. No one’s finger prints are like yours. No one has the same combination of secret inside jokes and family expressions that you know. The few people who laugh at all the same things you do, don’t sneeze the way you do. No one prays about exactly the same concerns as you do. No one is loved by the same combination of people that love you – NO ONE! No one before, no one to come. YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY UNIQUE! Enjoy that uniqueness. You do not have to pretend in order to seem more like someone else. You weren’t meant to be like someone else. You do not have to lie to conceal the parts of you that a

Strive for a crown!

The kingdom of God does not come with observation! "Now when He was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He answered them and said, "The kingdom of God does not come with observation,” Luke 17:20 You will not say, 'See here!' or 'See there!' We are like children sitting in the marketplace and calling to one another, and those who are seeing us think we’re playing games, although is, but the only difference is ours are real. It is the real show, and we’ve all been lured to playing a series of games from which the winner will emerge victorious - that we are indeed set free. But it’s just not enough to be successful in one game, you got to win all of them to win. The Pharisees thought they were the winners, and so they demanded the kingdom, and today some preachers may think it’s the end too. The Pharisees laid demands probably knowing that the new game Jesus was preaching about would be gruesome for them. So they thought, let the game now e

He knows deceitful men

"For He knows deceitful men; He sees wickedness also. Will He not then consider it?" Job 11:11 Deceitful men are they who say God has called them when He has not. These speak wickedly for God regardless of what they say which sometimes is true, for they secretly show partiality for Him. Their womb prepares oppression and deceit, or simply speaking they walk in falsehood. Deceit comes from within their spirit. Jesus said, "Hear and understand: Not what goes into the mouth defiles a man; but what comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man," Matthew 15:10-11, and verse 19 says, “For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies.” You want to thrive in the things of God?  David says, then “Keep your tongue from evil, And your lips from speaking deceit. Depart from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it,” Psalm 34:13-14.  Depart from evil, from deceit, deception or misrepresentation. It’s not good for

Receive the promise of the Spirit

It is God who supplies the Spirit to you, and you receive the promise of the Spirit through faith, Galatians 3:14. You receive the Holy Spirit through faith in Jesus Christ our Lord who has redeemed us that this blessing may also come upon you. The Holy Spirit has already been poured out into the world. Peter said, "Therefore being exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He poured out this which you now see and hear," Acts 2:33. So He already has been poured out as a drink, and now is the right time for you to receive him.  Who receives the Holy Spirit? The Holy Spirit was poured out, or sent from heaven to be received by you and me who believe in the gospel of Christ and us who want to worship God in the spirit of Jesus Christ. The Father Himself promised and He has already given us His Holy Spirit. How do you receive Him? Since the Holy Spirit has already been poured out from heaven. He is meanwhile hovering arou

He gave us the Holy Spirit to help us please God

The Holy Spirit was given for our good. He gave us the Holy Spirit to set a seal on us, "For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God," Romans 8:14. I love verse 16-17, it says, "The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs-heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.  How do you suffer with him? Remember my friend, that the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. Therefore, fear God and be spiritually minded; serve God according to the spirit of holiness, according to the righteousness requirement of the law, walking in the spirit and in newness of life. "Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body," Romans 8:23. Be fervent in spir

A man in whom is the Spirit of God!

“ Can we find such a one as this, a man in whom is the Spirit of God? ” Genesis 41:38 Not all "wise men" have the spirit of God, and worse if they always strive with others. The Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with men… Genesis 6:3. You have not the spirit of God if you do. One as this a man in whom is the Spirit of God knows how to work with others in all manner of workmanship, " in wisdom, in understanding, in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship ," Exodus 31:3. He/she is stirred up in heart and is willing to engage in the business of believers who fear God. One as this a man in whom is the Spirit of God gives " no regard to mediums and familiar spirits ," Leviticus 19:31. He/she does not seek after them, to be defiled by them.  One as this a man in whom is the Spirit of God does not mistreat others. I know how I’m also a stranger to some folks who feel opposed to me, but Leviticus 19:34 says, " The stranger who dwells among you

Questionable circumstances are a red flag

Stay away from a preacher who never takes time off even if ill/old, who insists on dealing with certain people - that’s a red flag!  Questionable circumstances are a red flag believers have to look out for. Here is how the gospel works; you’re told the news first and then you relay it to others. Never claim ownership of it, instead pass it on, share and never enforce it upon a generation. Treating it as if it is yours is corruption or abuse of the delegated powers. Remember Rome was not built in one day, meaning the gospel is a complex task, it takes all our efforts, and great achievement takes time and effort and should not be rushed. So you pass it own to show that you have understood the gospel. No generation claims supremacy, the fathers passed it own to their sons (kings), prophets to other prophets too, and to Jesus, and Jesus to the apostles (Holy Ghost), and the apostles to us and so forth. I like how John puts it, he said, "I baptize with water: but there standeth one a

Payback time!

What would happen when  the Lamb opens the seven seals, and the seven angels sound the seven trumpets?  When He comes back, it’s payback time, a time for punishment for unbelievers, and reward for you who believe. "Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this," Revelation 4:1 A throne is set in heaven, and One who sits on the throne, lives forever and ever, and in the right hand of Him is a scroll written inside and on the back, sealed with seven seals. In the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb, He came and took the scroll out of the right hand of Him who sat on the throne. He was the only one worthy to take the scroll, and to open its seals; for he was slain, and have redeemed us to God by his blood. He opened the seven seals; the first, “and behold, a white horse. He who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer," Revelation 6:2. He opened the second seal, and behold “another horse, fiery re

Two great signs!

Two great signs appeared in heaven portraying what had happened, what is happening, and is going to happen; The first sign was of a woman "being with child, she cried out in labor and in pain to give birth," Revelation 12:2. The second, was of a dragon who stood before the woman "ready to devour her Child as soon as it was born,"Revelation 12:4.  Concurrently, there was war in heaven and Satan was thrown out of heaven, and "His tail drew a third of the stars [angels] of heaven and threw them to the earth," Revelation 12:4.  No place found was found for them in heaven any longer, "so the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him," Revelation 12:9.  The apostle then wrote, "Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, hav

The time is near!

"Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen," Revelation 1:7. The Lord, "who is and who was and WHO IS TO COME, the Almighty," is indeed coming soon, and every eye will see Him. He who is coming says, “I have the keys of Hades and of Death," Revelation 1:18. "Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life," Revelation 2:10. He is coming quickly, in the same way he came to life, ready to punish those who hold false doctrine of Him. He said, "I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place-unless you repent," Revelation 2:5. He is saying, "Repent, or else I will come to you quickly and will fight against [you] with the sword of My mouth," Revelation 2:16. This time He is coming for battle;  to fight with the sword of His mouth, against a church/believers who "allow that woman

We have such TRUST

We have such TRUST through Christ toward God, 2 Corinthians 3:4 We are ministers of the new covenant, not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but we have such trust and hope through Christ towards God, that our sufficiency is from God. On our own we can do nothing, but we do minister through the spirit of Christ with such great boldness of speech, and the hope is we all, "are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord," 2 Corinthians 3:18. "Therefore, since we have this ministry…." 2 Corinthians 4:1. - we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord, 2 Corinthians 4:5, and ourselves are your bondservants for Jesus' sake. - we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness nor handling the word of God deceitfully, 2 Corinthians 4:2. But by the manifestation of the truth "we commend ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight

He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit

“The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God," Mark 1:1 John said there comes One after me, who is mightier than I, He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit. He then baptised Jesus and immediately, coming up from the water he saw the heavens parting and the Spirit descending upon Jesus like a dove. The Spirit then drove Jesus into the wilderness to be tempted by Satan, "and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered to Him," Mark 1:13.  After John was put in prison, "Jesus came to Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God saying, "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel," Mark 1:14-15 And this was the gospel, that you will be baptised with the Holy Spirit. The Spirit comes in to drive you to places where you would not want to go, to places he himself would be effective. I hear Jesus say to Peter, "Most assuredly, I say to you, when you were younger, you girded yours
