The LORD then caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, "and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. Then the rib which the LORD God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man. And Adam said: "This is now bone of my bones And flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, Because she was taken out of Man," Genesis 2:21-23.
I hear Paul say, "For man is not from woman, but woman from man," 1 Corinthians 11:8. And Moses says man are sons of God, and women are daughters of men. Eve when she conceived and bore Cain, she said, "I have acquired a man from the LORD," Genesis Chapter 4:1.
In those days people would behave like animals and not properly marry like we do these days. Men would take "wives for themselves of all whom they chose," Genesis 6:2.
Paul says, "For man is not from woman, but woman from man. Nor was man created for the woman, but woman for the man. For this reason the woman ought to have a symbol of authority on her head, because of the angels," 1 Corinthians 11:8-10.
By the way, these sons of God were not angels as it is supposedly thought, but were sheer human beings. All males were considered to be the sons of God also, and females were the daughters of men as Paul says women are from men.
Remember, when Adam and Eve connived together with the snake to sin, God punished everyone who was involved. But here it’s not so, why is he only punishing man, if sons of God only refers to Angels? Genesis 6:5-6 says, "Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the LORD was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart." In verse 3 He said, "My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, for he is indeed flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years."
The LORD was sorry that He had made man on the earth, not angels and He was grieved in His heart because of man.
"There were giants on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown." Genesis 6:4.
Sons of God here is a figurative expression. These giants were mere powerful men of old, famous men. Men of renown, not because they were a mixed breed of men and angels, angels don’t marry, neither do they breed, but men do. We also know that no other men survived Noah’s flood apart from Noah and his children, eight souls together, but still from them came out some giants also. Even today we still have men of stature on earth.
